THE DAY THE EARTH RUMBLED

When it rains, it pours down by the buckets. And it did rain for 2 days without stopping.

The hills behind this block of terrace houses

have held on safely with lots of vegetation, shrubs and trees for 25 plus years.

The hills have not been disturbed and no construction was carried out, thus no one imagined they would come crashing down. It was a roaring deluge as the hills tumbled right into our back entrances.

It was amazing that the earth and debris stopped and did not engulf the houses and people inside but many of the back doors were damaged. A hardy "brick" wall is now being built to contain the hills.

Around the same time, 2 other sites also felt the wrath of the storms.

The hills surrounding my residential area just caved in all around.

Thankfully, not a single resident was hurt. We heard the rumbles and ventured out during the storms with our umbrellas to shocking sights as one hill after another tumbled during the week.

NO MORE RAINS please until the brick walls have been safely completed.

  1. i'm sorry to hear that, hopefully everything will be okay again. Amin ^^

  2. There are so many destructive natural events around the world as we begin to pay the price for having tampered with nature far too much. The chickens are indeed coming home to roost.

  3. oh wow, unbelievable and so good it stopped before it made it into the houses. Fires in Europe, drought in the southwest out here, rains and such in your area and I just heard Hawaii had a huge storm with huge waves. Glad you're okay

  4. Glad the landfall didn't damage the row of houses, but their mindset should have been terrified then! It's nice to see they started to build walls quickly to give a protective feel. I just (yesterday) watched a Tamil film called O2; it deals with landfall where a bus is buried with passengers, and how they all survive is the story.

  5. Omg, can't imagine if the landfall hit the houses 😔. The weather is very bad currently. Not only in Malaysia, but happened in other side of countries. Hopefully all of us can learn from these disasters to keep taking care of earth
