 MOLLY and ME

Most folks start the day with a "Good Morning to their spouse or children." But for me, it's a morning walk to meet Molly, my monitor lizard. Molly lives quite happily in a catchment lake. I say "happily" as she appears fat and heavy, obviously well fed with fishes. She is quite a beautiful Girl.  I don't think monitor lizards can be safely kept as pets, especially one as large as herMolly is "my pet in the wild." She is always there waiting for me around 7.30am ("I lie not"). Maybe it's just her morning routine that coincides with my morning walk, or maybe she does like hearing me yell out her name.

Monitor lizards are not dangerous and do not attack unless provoked. Nevertheless, it is best I stay away from Molly in case any sudden movement on my part frightens her. They do not have visible ears, but can hear. So, I yell out her name seeking acknowledgement from her. But she just ignores me and does her own thing - sunning on the rocks and flicking her tongue or  swimming lazily.

Meeting Molly gives me a 😍 good start to everyday.

  4. Oh I would love walking by and talking with her. I love lizard and reptiles...my son use to bring his king snake and put it on my bed and I would visit with it, lol. I never pass up a lizard without trying to get a photo.

I took it as he instructed. After two weeks, I went to the test and I tested Negative.
