I HAVE A FRIEND DOWN THIS STREET

But to be honest, we seldom meet

First it was our work,

then our family,Now it’s the grand kids, what other excuses will there be?

When we were kids, it was the opposite,

We made every excuse just to meet

Then as we grew older, this friendship time

Became so rare, we never could find.

So for this year a promise I makeNot to meet only during a good friend’s wake

But to take the time to 

connect and share

            A meal and laugh as I still CARE.
